From the 1st September, the surgery will be open on a Monday and Thursday morning from 7.30am offering routine early morning appointments.This is in addition to the Surgery openingon the 2nd Saturday each month between 8.30 –11 am.

Update on measles outbreak declared on Merseyside

A measles outbreak has been declared on Merseyside. There are 13 confirmed and 16 suspected cases ranging in age from nine months to adults aged in their 20s. Six people, four children and two adults, required treatment in hospital. This compares to just one confirmed case on Merseyside in the first six weeks of 2011 and one in the corresponding period of 2010.

Update on Legionnaires’ Cluster Associated with a Hotel in Spain

10 February 2012, 1400hrs. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has this week been alerted by the Spanish public health authorities about a further case of Legionnaires’ Disease in a UK resident who stayed at the Diamante Beach Hotel in Calpe, Costa Blanca, as well as two French cases. This brings the total number of UK residents associated with this cluster to 12, with three deaths.

We need your valued opinion!

You can have your say by becoming part of our “virtual” patient feedback forum, The Voice of Chawton House Surgery.

We realise that people are generally very busy and may not have time to come to the surgery for regular meetings, therefore we would like to form a “virtual group” that can exchange views, participate in practice surveys and with whom we can consult from time to time by e-mail or phone. However if you don’t have an e-mail address you can still get involved, the only stipulation is that you are a patient at Chawton House Surgery.

The topics that we will ask your opinion on will be varied and examples of topics for discussion could be opening times, patient’s priorities and services that we can commission through the newly formed commissioning group.

The topic for the patient feedback forum survey is on communication with the practice. If you have suggestions for future topics, please let us know at hamp-pct.chawtonhouse-vochs@nhs.net

A: We would like to be able to contact people occasionally to ask them questions about the surgery and how well we are doing to identify areas for improvement.

A: This information is purely to contact patients to ask them questions about the surgery, how well we are doing and ensure changes that are being made are patient focused. If your doctor is responsible for making some of the changes in the surgery they might see general feedback from patients.

Q: Will the questions you ask me be medical or personal?

A: We will only ask general questions about the practice, such as short questionnaires.

Q: Who else will be able to access my contact details?

A: Your contact details will be kept safely and securely and will only be used for this purpose and will not be shared with anyone else.

Q: How often will you contact me?

A: Not very often……maybe once every three to four months.

Q: What is a patient feedback forum?

A: This is a group of volunteer patients who are involved in making sure the surgery provides the services its patients need.

Q: Do I have to leave my contact details?

A: No, but if you change your mind, please let us know
